He tenido el privilegio de conocer a miles de mujeres que se superan, transforman sus vidas y mejoran los lugares por donde pasan. Sus historias inspiran y reconocen la aportación valiosa que hacen a nuestra comunidad. En homenaje a ellas, escribí el libro Resiliencia: Voces de mujeres latinas inmigrantes, dedicado a tantas mujeres que emprendieron el viaje a Estados Unidos en busca de una nueva vida y un futuro mejor. Agradezco a todas las participantes del Instituto Para La Mujer y a las muchas personas que he conocido a lo largo de mi trabajo comunitario.

Mi segundo libro, Sobreviviente: Memorias de mi padre en la revolución mexicana, rinde tributo a la lucha por la justicia y a la resiliencia de quienes la enfrentaron.

I have been privileged to meet thousands of women who transform their lives and, in doing so, enrich the world around them. Their stories inspire me and underscore the invaluable contributions they make to our communities. In their honor I wrote Resilience: Journeys of Latina Immigrant Women, which I dedicate to the many who came to this country seeking a new life and a brighter future. I am grateful to the participants of the Instituto Para La Mujer (IPLM) and to the countless others I have met through my community work. My second book, Survivor Memoirs of My Father in the Mexican Revolution, pays tribute to the struggle for justice and to the resiliency of those who fought for it.
